Thread: Master ibex owners?

Hi fellow Colnago friends!

I have a Colnago Master ibex (MTB) that I have been using since early 90's which I bought new in Germany and since I have never seen any others around (even the newer Carbon models) except in showrooms, I am wondering if there are any other MTB Colnago fans around in the UK?

Also, if anyone knows where I can get some replacement components (italian thread and different spacing to modern bikes I believe?) that would be greatly appreciated.

I will try to post a picture of it (if that's allowed?) in the future (although the rather faded and now neon yellow, purple and green colours from that time may turn some stomachs until you see the great master frame work and lugs...) Still rides like a dream and has that great stage race geometry and straight fork that soaks up so much of the terrain...

Hope to hear from someone about where I can get some components (Camp or Shimano) to fit or even some thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Richard

PLEASE POST A PICTURE, RICHARD!

I rode one of these bikes one Summer (in Germany actually!) in the early 1990s. It was the first Colnago I rode and I fell in love with the brand!

I have never seen another Colnago MTB with MAster tubing like that and I really doubt that they were ever brought into the UK.

Italian threads are still made by both Shimano and Campag because all Italian made bikes still have Italian threads, (only the Taiwan produced Colnagos don't have Italian threads) so you should be able to get a Dura Ace BB to fit your other Shimano kit from any road bike shop.
