Thread: Chainstay protection
Posted 03 March 2009 at 02:10:22 UK time
Ricardo, Down devon way

I have a Colnago Dream with the carbon B'stays. When the chain comes off the chainrings it tends to chew up the carbon at the end of the carbon stays. I've noticed that on some quality carbon frames there is a metal protector over this section. The Orbea Orca even has a Ti one. Anyone have a tip or advice on how to protect this part of the frame.
Thanks

You can buy clear plastic frame protector stickers, they also go on the head tube to stop the cables rubbing the paint away. Not expensive and protect the chainstay beautifully without detracting from the glorious paint.
