i have a c40hp which is nearing it's 4th birthday, still fitted with a mix of record and chorus and even an alloy chainset (so retro:-) but i love it. the thought of 'upgrading' to a c50 has occurred on a semi-regular basis but other than the drool factor and a self-satisfied grin, i'm not sure that it would make a lot of difference to my cycling.

so i shall continue trying to pedal fast enough that folks can't read the word 'colnago' on the top tube:-)

Brian, I too ride a C40, the performance of this bike is plenty, I too have ideas of swapping for a C50, but then reality hits home, I cannot even ride the C40 to its full potential and the bike does everything above standard' not to mention comfotable, I can ride my bike all day, If you have too, spend the big bucks for the C50, but you know the C40 is plenty bicycle

My C40 is getting on now, one of the first HP's, and despite falling off a mountain in the Dolomites, it's still way better than me!
